New Beginnings

Right on cue, after a chilly start to the day, the sun put in a glorious appearance on this first day of Spring. Sweeping leaves and trimming an unruly hedge even resulted in me working up a sweat, so layers were gradually discarded to finish the job. With the mountain as our backdrop we are often fooled into believing the wonderful burst of Spring weather at the start of the season is going to continue, as we have a habit of relapsing back into Winter on any given day at a moment’s notice. That may very well happen, but while the sun shines we’ll revel in it and look forward to more days spent outside pottering around and getting our hands dirty, and watching out for the new signs of life as the ground warms up and new growth signals the end of the dormant season.

Daffodils
loud golden trumpets
herald Spring’s arrival
