My nectarine tree is all but naked. The leaves have gradually fallen
over the last weeks, and what few wizened stragglers remained were well and
truly taken care of in today’s strong winds. All but this little trio attached
at the hip right on the tip of a slender branch, hanging on for all they’re
worth, determined to cling to home base despite the fact all vestiges of life
have been drained from them. They are the lucky last, displaying their
fortitude while the mother tree retreats into hibernation to ready herself to
produce more offspring.
Which one
doesn’t want to let go
the leaf or the tree
I really, really like this one!!
