Little Picture in the Big

I do appreciate the grand vistas of nature, the sweep of mountains and valleys, the drama of rocky coastlines, giant temperate rainforests, but I have to admit the small details often hold a greater fascination for me. Approached from both perspectives is somewhat like wearing bifocals, seeing the bigger picture, looking into the distance at the unfolding landscape, at the same time as being able to focus on the intricacy of the minute elements right in front of you that make up that bigger picture. The beauty often hidden at first glance is there if you slow down long enough to notice.

Nature's treasure trove
how extraordinary are
ordinary things
