The artists' showcase night has long become a must see event at the end of each annual Faith & the Arts week in our village. From music to dance, photography, painting and drawing, kiln-fired and flame-worked glass, textiles, silversmithing, writing, poetry and film making, each discipline has a way of capturing our imagination with its many modes of expression. I never cease to be amazed at what is achieved in such a short time, for whether refining skills or exploring a medium of expression never before attempted, elective leaders have a way of taking participants on a journey so they can discover and uncover that inbuilt creativity we all long to express in some form. Whether bold and bright, or subdued and moody, large in scale or intricately fine, we are drawn to particular items. We make a connection. There's nothing logical about it. It's one thing to admire skill, but when a work of art resonates with us, there is something of the divine in that whole interaction.
Creative juices
flow, spill forth, give birth to
unforeseen ideas
